Star Wars: Galactic Racer Dev Says Racing Genre Is "Crying Out" For Fresh Ideas

Late last year, Fuse Games debuted the first look at its debut title, Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The Fuse team includes veterans who have worked on Need for Speed, Burnout, and Star Wars Battlefront. That experience has taught them that the new Star Wars racer had to be more than just a spiritual successor to Star Wars Episode I: Racer."Every time we've made a game, we've tried to innovate," Fuse Games founder and CEO Matt Webster told The Game Business. "If you sort of zoom out a bit, it's a genre that's crying out for some fresh new ideas, and to steal from some other genres as well."One of the ways that Galactic Racer will differ from the previous Star Wars racing games is that the races are only part of the experience.
